Day 59 - na, na, na, na, everyday...

Song of the day:  Iyaz - Replay  ...I thought this was Sean Kingston??  Apparently not.

I had some major struggles with wanting to eat crap yesterday.  There's really not many temptations here, but there is a lovely candy dish full of reese's peanut butter eggs.  They.  Look.  AMAZING.  In the past I would scarf down 3 or 4 in one sitting, no problem.  Well, yeah a problem, but you know what I mean.  Really, I have the calorie allowance that I could eat one and not kill my day, or week, but I know if I have one today that I'm going to want another one.  And another one the next day.  The next thing I know I would be having one every day.  Those eggs are a slippery slope, and thankfully I had enough will power to resist!

I've discovered Swiss Miss diet hot chocolate.  It's only 25 calories per serving (6 oz) and it helps curb my sweet/chocolate cravings.  And since it's 6 oz and hot, it takes a while to drink the whole cup, so I feel like I'm having a lot.

Ugh.  Did anyone watch The Biggest Loser last night?  The beginning of the episode showed everyone going home and I just cried my eyes out through their homecomings!  It's just so cool to see them all reunite with their families and to see how proud of them their families are.  Ugh, since having Elliot I start crying at any hint of family, love, or anything sentimental.  Lol, I'm so lame.  :)

After The Biggest Loser I really didn't want to go workout, but I knew that I really needed to.  I sucked it up and headed over to Snap.  It's really not the workout that's hard, it's just getting there that I don't want to do.  Once I'm there, I'm fine, my heads in the game, and I'm ready to go.  I was trying to decide between doing a fat burn brisk walk or working on my mile time/5k training.  By the time I got there I had more energy, or at least fake energy from the cool weather, so I decided to do 30 minutes of each.  I started with the walk and worked my way up to the run.  I upped my mph to 6.0 and ran a mile!  That means I'm back at a 10 minute mile - and I feel like I could have gone faster.  That's the one thing that sucks about a treadmill - you set your speed then run to it instead of just running.  It's been a long time since I've been able to run a mile without stopping, so I'm really proud of myself!  Bad news is that I have MAJOR shin splints in my right shin.  My left hurts a little, but it's nothing compared to my right.  I iced when I got home and that helped.  I think that it has something to do with my Reebok Easy Tone shoes.  They are raised so your body has to use different muscles to balance.  I really don't think that they've done a whole lot more than normal tennis shoes, but whatev.  Anyway, they're fine for walking, but I think that when I run my body has to work more to stay balanced, or something, and that's why I'm experiencing shin splints.  I could be completely off, but it's one possibility.

Today, Elliot and I are going to go play with Kynzley and Maria!  They haven't had a play date since November so it will be nice to get them together again.  Tonight, Miranda and I are going to do the triple threat and ballet toning classes at Snap.  I've never done the triple threat class so I'm excited for something new!  -And to let my shins have a little break!
