Day 177 - Tuesday Weigh-In Week #25

Song of the day:  All Time Low - Coffee Shop Soundtrack

Okay, so this week I'm finally getting back to being healthy.  It definitely makes a difference being back into our normal routine at home.  I hadn't been here in 3 weeks!  I napped a ton yesterday and it felt so nice!  The weather has been so nice, but unfortunately I left my swim suit at my parents (it's currently being mailed back, lol) so I can't take Elliot to the pool :(  I went to Target to try and find a new one, and I can't find anything that I really like :(

Last night I made Pesto Chicken with black spaghetti.  The black spaghetti is from Target's Archer Farms brand and was on clearance, so we thought we'd try something new.  It was really good, and I don't think that it tasted any different.  It was really pretty looking with the chicken and the pesto colors.  It almost looked professional, lol.  I even made the pesto with the basil from our porch!  It turned out really well!  I'm really excited for the leaves to mature again and then I'll make the meal again!  I did change the recipe from almonds to sunflower seeds because that's what I had in our cabinet.  I have a lot of mint so I'm planning on making wings with mint leaves and honey for dinner tonight!  Except I'm exchanging wings for chicken breast.  We also have some amazing honey that we got at our last visit to the farmers market, so it should be really good!

We went grocery shopping on Sunday and got a ton of food!  Which was good because the only thing in our fridge was mountain dew, coke, a lemon, a lime, and kraft singles.  We stocked up on Lean Cuisines to help curb our eating out habits.  Now when we don't feel like cooking, we can just have one of those instead of spending $40 on Thai takeout.  Good for the body, good for the budget!

This is my last week for two of my classes, then I have a break until July 25th!  There's so much to do this week, and Kyle's brother Aaron is visiting Thursday and Friday, so I'm trying to work ahead.  Hopefully I can get everything done!

Well, I saw this coming.  Thankfully the last two days I've eaten really well, and am planning on keeping it up!  I also did some yoga last week and plan on doing it some more today and throughout the rest of the week.  I'm still under my pre-pregnancy weight, and that was my main first goal, so I don't feel like a complete failure, lol.  Okay, back to the day!  Hopefully I'll have more time to write this week!

Day 172 - playing catch-up

Song of the day:  Blink 182 - All The Small Things

Okay, so I've been super busy with school and life and I TOTALLY forgot which day it was and completely missed my weigh-in day Tuesday.  That being said, I'm pretty sure I either stayed the same or gained.  I haven't been eating really well, so, eh.

But today I am doing well so far!  I had an egg, bacon, and toast for breakfast - AND I even had 2 glasses of milk!  I cannot stand milk typically, but I am really trying to increase my dairy intake.  Also, the government changed the food pyramid to "my plate" and I think it's actually more effective because I thought of that plate and realized I should have some dairy (not too mention I probably overdid the protein and didn't have any fruits or veggies).  After breakfast Elliot and I played and then when he went down for his nap I did a yoga DVD on Netflix.  Then I went for a walk/run for 25 minutes after that.  I feel really good about today so far, and hopefully I'll keep this going!  I think I'm going to move my focus from losing weight back to living a healthy lifestyle.  Then I think I'll see progress.

This is my last week at my parents house and I'm excited to get back home, but I'm not excited to have to cook again, lol.  Kyle's brother is visiting next week from Australia!  We haven't seen him in about a year, so I'm excited that we get to see him!  I'm really excited for Kyle to be home for two weeks in a row, then we're heading to Ely, MN to YMCA Camp du Nord!  I'm so excited!  I haven't been there for  years and I'm really excited for Kyle and Elliot to experience for their first times!

I have one and a half weeks left in my polisci and abnormal psychology classes!  I cannot wait!  Then I'm done for three weeks, then I am taking a three week course in cognitive psychology.  It will be so much easier with only one class instead of two.  Okay, and now it's back to get some reading done!

Day 164 - digital digital get down

Song of the day:  N*Sync - Digital Digital Get Down  ...I heard this song while filling up my brothers car at Kwik Trip today, hahahaha!

I had a great time at dinner with Donna!  I've had to cancel on her the last four times we made plans, so I'm glad that I took time out from school to hang out with her.  Of course, I'm now realizing that I should have planned it for today instead since D2L for school is down, and there's not really a whole lot I can do without it :/

I've realized that I need to just maintain my weight for the next three weeks, and not really focus too much on trying to lose weight.  I just don't have the time or energy to really try to lose weight.  I do need to curb my snacking, but other than that, I'm not going to worry about changing things too much right now.

Elliot's still working on the six teeth that are coming in, and he was pretty beside himself as it got closer and closer to nigh-night.  But!  He did say his first two work sentence today!  It was "more cracker."  Well, really it sounded like "mooooooorr cacka."  But I was really proud of him, and it was really cute :)

Day 163 - Tuesday Weigh-In Week #23

Song of the day:  Owl City - Hello Seattle

1/3/11 - 232.6 lbs
1/31/11 - 217.4 lbs
2/28/11 - 206.0 lbs
3/26/11 - 208.8 lbs
4/25/11 - 206.0 lbs
5/31/11 - 203.2 lbs
6/7/11 - 202.5 lbs
6/14/11 - 204.0 lbs
Weight loss for Week Twenty-Three:  +1.5 lbs
Weight loss Total: 28.6 lbs

Weight loss since my heaviest (5/22/10 - 264 lbs): 60 lbs

Well, I gained, which kind of sucks, but I've ate crap for the last few weeks with zero working out, so I'm really not surprised at all.  But, like I said yesterday, I'm just finally getting back into everything.  Also, I found out that my parents scale will change depending on where you put it.  They have tile in their bathroom, so I think that's why.  So, 204 is the average, but I also got 202.4 and 206.8 all within the span of a few minutes.

I didn't eat great yesterday, but I'm taking little strides I guess.  My real problem was the bowl of popcorn I had at 11:00pm and I didn't go to bed until 12:30am.  I really need to start sleeping more.  I find myself absolutely exhausted during the day, and taking naps when Elliot is napping too.  If it wasn't for school, I wouldn't really care about my sleep schedule, but when he's sleeping is the only time I have uninterrupted moments.

I'm having dinner with Donna tonight, and I'm really excited because I haven't hung out with her in about 4, maybe 5, months.  It's been a while.  I'm going to try to eat something healthy, but I really want to eat yummy as well, and at a lot of restaurants, that's a hard combination to find.  I should probably just stay away from all things fried, lol.

Day 162 - getting back to it.

Song of the day:  NKOTB - Summertime

Okay.  Today is the day to get back on track!  I haven't been eating horribly, but I haven't been eating great, and I haven't been working out at all.  So, today is the day to get back to it.  I started out my morning with a good breakfast, and am going to eat a healthy lunch, and healthy dinner.  I also want to get out for a walk today, which should be easy because it is beautiful outside!  Or if not a walk, at least some sort of physical activity.  I can feel that my body is really starting to not like me again, so I think it's time to get it feeling better!

I think that the hardest part is going to get back into actually making food again.  Really, it's just the next three weeks that are going to be tough, but after school's done (for about a month) I'll have no problem getting back into the swing of things.  But for right now, it's all about time management.  Oh man, weigh-in day is tomorrow!

Day 159-161 - What a FUN weekend!

Song of the day:  Martin Solveig & Dragonette - Hello

We had so much fun this weekend!  Kyle got into town late Friday night, then early Saturday morning we packed up the car and headed to Hayward.  My cousin Ashley graduated from high school a couple weeks ago, and her party was Saturday.  The drive wasn't too bad, but we did take a long stop at Target on the way up, so that helped.  But, yeah, Elliot is NOT a fan of sitting in the car!

When we got there Elliot was so excited!  There were two "pup-pup's" (even though only one was actually a puppy) and Elliot kept trying to catch the puppy, but he was too fast for him, lol.  He wanted to be doing whatever the other kids were doing, and kept trying to climb the play place all by himself. :)

We stayed a hotel for the night along with my mom, two of my aunts, and my cousin, his wife, and their three kids.  We all spent a lot of time at the pool, and Elliot had a lot of fun showing off how good he was at "kick, kick, kick"-ing.  Today we went out to eat and then spent some time in downtown Hayward.  There is a very magical place there called Tremblay's Sweet Shop.  I actually gasped in awe when we walked in!  And the candy is so good!  A lot of it was taffy and fudge though, so Elliot got a couple of safety pops :)  But he's too little to really understand that he's missing out on something, lol.

Well, now it's 10:00pm and I have a ton of stuff to do for school tomorrow!  It looks like it's going to be another fun week (well, three weeks) of school!  Okay, where's the coffee??

Day 157 & 158 - just make yourself a dang quesa-dilluh!

Song of the Day:  Katy Perry - Last Friday Night

Um, anyone else watch the Today Show on Wednesday??!!  It was Meredith Vieiria's last day, and I cried, multiple times.  I'm not joking, lol.  I really liked her :)

Well, my eating hasn't been bad, but it hasn't really been good.  I haven't been eating a ton, but I am addicted to the quesadilla maker that Logan got for graduation.  I also have been making some quick guacamole for the quesadillas.  I may have to buy him a new one before he goes to school with how often I'm using it!  Elliot's a huge fan of them as well, so maybe we'll have to get one for home.... yep, use the kid as an excuse :)

I'm still trying to catch up on sleep.  I had too much fun with too little sleep this weekend, and this week I've been up until at least 1:30 (2:45 at the latest though) doing homework.  The problem is that I'm not behind, but I am on time, and the only time that I can freely work is when Elliot's sleeping.  Well, I've been so tired that when he naps during the day I get about one paragraph into my political science book before I'm falling asleep.  So when Elliot goes to bed around 7:30, I'm finally able to really dig into my work.  But I definitely wish I would have brought my glasses with me.  I didn't realize how much I relied of them - not really for sight, but just to keep the staring-at-a-computer-screen-for-hours headache away.

Kyle is coming up here tomorrow, and I'm still unsure what we're going to do for the weekend/next week.  Tomorrow is my last day in my women's studies class, but I have three more weeks of poli sci and my abnormal psych class starts on Monday.  Three more weeks of school, then I have a break until the end of July!  I'm really glad that I decided to take classes this summer, because it's really not as hard as I thought it would be.  It's actually really nice that I can get all these classes done in such a short time.

Alright, back to poli sci busy work... yeah, it's really a lot of busy work :/  Lame.

Day 155 & 156 - Tuesday Weigh-In Week #22

Song of the Day:  The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Your Guardian Angel  - this was our first dance song :)

Yesterday (Monday) was our 2nd Anniversary!  Kyle is in Milwaukee for work, and I am in West Salem visiting my parents, so Ethan came to our rescue and baby sat Elliot so I could go to Milwaukee and have dinner with Kyle!  We went to Hinterland and it was amazing!  Easy the best meal I have had in a very long time!

I am really glad that I now weigh-in on Tuesday's so I have a day to recover, because between Monday morning and Tuesday morning, my weight fluctuated 5 lbs!  Thankfully it went down Tuesday!

1/3/11 - 232.6 lbs
1/31/11 - 217.4 lbs
2/28/11 - 206.0 lbs
3/26/11 - 208.8 lbs
4/25/11 - 206.0 lbs

5/31/11 - 203.2 lbs

6/7/11 - 202.5

Weight loss for Week Twenty-Two:  0.7 lbs
Weight loss Total: 30.1 lbs

Weight loss since my heaviest (5/22/10 - 264 lbs): 61.5 lbs

So, it looks like the month of May has brought be 3.5 closer to my goal!  Not the best, but with all that we had going on this past month, I'm happy!  I am so swamped with school, and that's why I haven't been writing lately, but I'm really hoping to get back in the habit from here on out!

My intro to women's studies class ends Friday and I start cognitive psychology on Monday, and polysci is still going on.... I'm actually enjoying three week classes.  It's a lot of work everyday, but it's so nice how quick they are!

Okay, it's technically Wednesday now, but I'm posting this pretending it's Tuesday since I haven't gone to bed yet....

Day 153 & 154 - A Successful Weekend

Song of the Day:  Heart - Barracuda  - this is a nod to the band at JDD last night, and the female lead singer who was pretty amazing and did justice to this song!

I had such a great weekend!  I stayed ate too much food, drank too much beer, and stayed out too late, but it was so enjoyable!  Friday night had plans of being our night to lay low, and instead I didn't go to bed until 4:45am.  We missed the parade Saturday, which ended up being okay, because Elliot was still napping.  We went to dinner at Tequilas, which is always good, and went to the beer tend when we got back and had a ton of fun, and the music was really good, even though it was super loud.  It's so nice to just take a break from life and have fun with your friends!  Even though I'm exhausted, I still feel rejuvenated.

Right now it's almost midnight and I'm still up working on some homework.  I'll be glad I did it in the morning, but as for right now, I'm tired, and need my beauty sleep.  :)

Day 151 & 152 - JDD!!

Video of the day:  50 State Stereotypes (In Two Minutes)  ... I thought this was funny :)

All day yesterday I thought it was Friday, and today I woke up thinking it was Thursday.  Thankfully I still got all of my school stuff done on time.  I have been spending each day stuck to the computer as soon as Elliot goes down for a nap, so I really want to do work this weekend so I don't feel so rushed come Monday.

My friend Beth came over for a while yesterday afternoon and we spent the time with Elliot in the pool!  He loves it so much!  He refuses to get out even though his lips were starting to turn purple, and even after I dried him off he tried to go back in!  With the weather looking like it will hit the high 80's/early 90's today, I think we'll spend most of the day in the pool.  It's super nice out already this morning, but I'm thinking of preemptively turning on the a/c.

Last night, I cooked dinner for the first time in a week!  We had stir fry, which is always good!  I also got to use some of my basil and cilantro from my "garden."  The only down side is that I was doing school work that I needed to finish first, so we didn't eat until 9:15pm.  Oh well, food is always good!

When Kyle gets home from work we'll be heading to West Salem for June Dairy Days!  I'm super excited for the parade, bingo, mini doughnuts, and to see all of my friends!  Not necessarily in that order :)  With so much fun packed into this weekend, I'm not sure I'll have time for homework, but I'll need to make some time.  I had wanted to run the JDD 5k, but I haven't ran since my last 5k, and it's supposed to be really hot, and I don't want to run outside in 80 degree weather.  Ick.

Day 150 - yay summer!

Song of the Day:  NKOTBSB - I Want It That Way/Step by Step

Well, I got everything done with about 15 minutes of the day to spare!  Today will be a lot easier, but I still have a lot to do.  Elliot is none too happy that I'm sitting at the computer, which he tries to play with while saying "Myiiii."  Which may or may not mean "Mine."  Hopefully it's just an accident... that consistently happens... and we haven't actually entered the "Mine" stage yet.

My tomato plant has little tomatoes on it!  And my pepper plants are starting to bloom and fruit as well!  My herbs are also taking over the patio, so I think it's time to start cooking again!  Kyle is awesome and he cleaned the kitchen while I was doing homework last night!  I thanked him and he said he did it because he wants to eat good food again.  :)

It looks like it's going to be beautiful out today, so hopefully I can get all of my homework done during Elliot's first nap, and then we can spend the afternoon in the pool!  Kyle took him over there last night to put his toes in the water, and he was not interested in just putting his toes in!  Elliot would live in the pool if he could, lol.  Elliot did all right without a pacifier during the day, but was screaming when we tried to put him to bed without one.  We let him come back out to the living room and gave him some water and "bread with butter hot" (it's bread with some butter on it warmed up in the microwave for 10 seconds).  This was a staple bed time snack for me and my brothers growing up.  He and Kyle watched part of Wall-E while eating his snack and then he was finally calmed down enough to go back to bed.  I have a feeling it's going to be a long week.

In other news, when we finally went to bed I was looking for the remote and found it in the bottom drawer of the empty dresser.  I'm guessing this was Elliot's doing...

Okay, back to homework, then to find a recipe for tonight!
